Loft Insulation - Save up to
£145* each year

Insulating your loft is a simple and effective way to reduce your heating bills immediately & make your home much warmer.

Its never been more important to think about insulating your loft to the correct depth of 270mm (about 10 inches).Without proper insulation a lot of the valuable and expensive energy YOU pay for is wasted as heat rises & escapes through your roof. Modern loft insulation is effective for up to 40 years, and it will pay for itself over and over again, saving you more money!

*based on 3 bed gas heated semi-detached

Why Insulate your loft?
You lose up to 25% of your heat through an un-insulated roof.
Most people have some loft insulation, however not enough.
If you can see the joists in the loft then you would benefit from having your loft insulation topped up.

The cost for insulation is paid for using the government grant so you do not need to contribute anything. Regardless of your personal situations it is completely FREE!

With estimated annual savings on your heating bill of up to £145- your pay back can be within the first year.

We wouldn't recommend insulating the loft yourself as it isn't as simple as just rolling out the insulation, because you have to ensure the correct depth, adequate roof ventilation to avoid condensation, lag all pipe work/tanks to avoid burst pipes in winter, draught proof the loft hatch & put down walk boards to access any essential tanks.

It isn't a very pleasant job either.

As you have already paid for the grant, you can get the loft insulated professionally which is backed by a guarantee & valid Certificate of Insulation.

Common Questions & Answers

  • Do I Qualify?
If there is less than 100mm (about 4 inches) of existing loft insulation, which is usually up to the joists then you would qualify for the grant
  • What if I don't qualify?
If your loft insulation is above 100mm (about 4 inches) you can still get your loft topped from £6 per sq meter.
  • How much will it cost for a larger house?
    Nothing! It's completely free.
  • Are there any additional costs?
Generally, no - however there may there may be an additional charge of up to £6 per m2 should insulation be required if it is above the government maximum allowed area for your type of property.

  • I use it for storage?
You can still qualify for the grant if you can get at least 75% of your loft insulated, as long as you can put your items in just 25% of the loft space.
