• Over half of home fires are caused by cooking accidents.
• More than five fires a day are started by candles.
• Every three days someone dies from a fire caused by a cigarette.
• Faulty electrics (appliances, wiring and overloaded sockets) cause around 7,000 house fires across the country every year.

Your local Energy Surveyor can assist you to organise a Free Home Fire Safety Check if required by your local Fire Service.


What's a Home Fire Safety Check ?
The home fire safety check will take about half an hour of your time. Your local Fire fighters will check your home and give you fire safety advice in order to keep you safe from fire which includes a fire escape plan and also fit free smoke alarms, if required.
